Embankments blamed for Taman Sri Muda floods

EMBANKMENTS built by the Selangor State Secretary Incorporated have been identified as one of the causes of the floods in Taman Sri Muda. An official of the Shah Alam Municipal Council said the embankments built for an industrial site blocked the free flow of rain water Sungai Klang. The piece of land is under the jurisdiction of the Klang District Office. He said as waterways to the river were not provided when the embankments were built, excess rain water which fall over an oil palm estate next to Taman Sri Muda flowed into the housing estate.
