Komag to shift most operations to Penang

KOMAG Incorporated, the world's largest independent supplier of thin-film media for computer hard disk drives, will shift its manufacturing activities mainly to Penang. Its president and chief executive officer T.H. Tan said the Malaysian factories should account for virtually all of Komag's finished disk output by the end of the year. "The decision to shift our manufacturing operations to Malaysia, particularly Penang, demonstrates our confidence in our Malaysian employees and operations in Penang," he said.
