`KLIA passed biggest test'
THE success of the KL International Airport in handling its heaviest passenger traffic during the recently-concluded 16th Commonwealth Games has silenced its critics, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik said yesterday. He said the airport had passed the acid test by its good handling of the Games athletes and officials. "There was not a single complaint from the athletes and officials from the 70 countries taking part in the Games. I am proud to say that the KLIA has passed this test (handling thousands of passengers simultaneously) outstandingly," he told reporters after launching the Langkawi Project in Triang, near Mentakab. - Bernama
