PM conferred highest award

THE Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, yesterday conferred the state's highest award, Darjah Kerabat Baginda Syed Putra (DK) on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of his ascension to the throne. Dr Mahathir is the sole recipient of the DK. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received the Seri Setia Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail (SSPJ) which carries the title of Datuk Seri DiRaja. Four other SSPJ recipients are the Raja of Perlis himself, Raja Perempuan Perlis, Raja Muda Perlis and Raja Puan Muda Perlis.
